In a tragic turn of events, Lawrence Edobor, a 43-year-old fashion designer, met a gruesome end when he was beheaded by suspected ritualists in the early hours of Friday morning in Evbuotubu, Benin City. The shocking incident occurred as Edobor was returning home from a burial he had attended the previous evening, sending shockwaves through the community.

The swift action of the Edo State Security Corps prevented the suspects from escaping, leading to the arrest of one of the perpetrators, identified as Uwadiae Airebiuwa, aged 27, from Igbinudu Street, Evbuotubu Quarters. Airebiuwa was apprehended in possession of the decapitated head, which he attempted to discard during the interrogation but was eventually caught.
